While most historic homes and museums are still closed for in-person tours, many are offering various forms of virtual tours, lectures, and workshops that our BHWC members and families might find enjoyable. This is another great way to keep our curious minds engaged and educated! Here is a sampling:
Hillwood Mansion
Docent-led, virtual 1-hour mansion tours, livestream lectures and workshops.
Free for members, $7 fee for non-members.
Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello
Live, virtual 1 hour tours.
$10 fee
National Museum of Natural History
Virtual tours, some narrated as well as zoom webinars.
National Museum of Women in the Arts
Virtual 45 minute-long “Art Chats” with museum educators and live-streaming female musical performances.
National Portrait Gallery
Online Zoom tours, plus various online artistic programs such as writing, drawing, YouTube virtual story time for children, and podcasts.
